United Girls of the World Flash Mob singing Let it Be, in Vancouver, Canada
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” (Alice Walker)
United Girls of the World is a non-profit society dedicated to empowering girls to affect positive social change at home, in their communities and around the world. We team up with gobal organizations to help connect girls in different communities, and support collaborative efforts to tackle critical issues affecting girls, including psychological disempowerment due to social injustices, physical abuse and human trafficking. We believe that engagement in initiatives that empower girls can play critical roles in improving their self-esteem, developing a culture of promoting community engagement, and supporting girls to become successful role models to future generations.
Our programs have two key areas of focus:
- Connecting, engaging & empowering girls in different communities to affect positive social change
- Providing scholarships to exceptional girl leaders who have made important contributions to advancing positive social change
